Course Description

Méthodes avancées en médias / Advanced Practices in Media

This course serves as an interdisciplinary media workshop. Students will develop independent projects and produce of a coherent body of work building on issues explored in previous media art courses.

In particular, students will be exposed to two essential skills in the area of making interactive media art:

  • electronics, in the form of simple analog and digital circuits, and
  • programming, using Arduino, Processing and MAX/MSP/Jitter.

The expectation is that students will gain a basic familiarity with the above techniques through several short assignments.

Towards the end of the class, students will develop, present and exhibit a final project that explores and implements one or more of the skills and interests developed in the class.
